Without light, there is no dark. Without shadow, there are no highlights. Without absorption, there is no reflection. Defined by the principles of design, Color and Light together create healing spaces, glamorous spaces, creative spaces, cultural spaces, and spaces that change.

THE CHALLENGE:

IES student members enrolled in the Buffalo State Interior Design Light and Color class will conduct a three-dimensional study that explores connections in color and light. Guiding principles are:

The use of color and light in a 3D space as a sculpture

Exhibit properties of color and light a) brightness and contrast; b) shadow and highlights; c) reflection and absorption

To use color and light (via wallpaper, paint, and luminaire) as the sculpture as much as the space.

This sculptural study will be presented to the lighting, engineering, and A&D community in a networking event.
